No More Caffeine For Me!!

Well I haven't posted about this yet because it is a hard thing for me but I have been trying to lose some weight. I have pretty much complety changed the way that I eat and have now lost 11 pounds. I used to go in "diets" alot and never really done to good at that and I basically told myself that I wouldn't go on another "diet" because they dont work for me. So about a month ago me and Johnny decided that we needed to make some changes and we have been making subtle changes. Well anyway about the caffeine. Tonight on the way home from church I told Johnny that I really wanted a fountian coke so we stoped and got me one and I drank about all of it and now I am paying it is 1:23am and I am still up but not because of the caffeine keeping me up but because I think it is affecting my heart. See over the weekend at a cookout I drank half of a coke and I started having heart palpatations and I am having the same thing tonight. And before I changed my eating habits I was having the palpatations almost every day and they quit when I stoped having all the caffeine and sugar so I say no more caffeine!!!

Aww...poor thing. Coke is so sweet and yummy too! But you know what makes me not drink it is that old nasty High Fructose Corn Syrup in it! It's really bad for your body. Start looking at ingredients in the foods you buy...you'll see HFCS everywhere! That's great to make small changes in your eating instead of dieting...good for you both! I should get rid of my morning cuppa coffee too... but...

I understand the heart palpitations. That's why I had to give up the caffine 10 years ago. It helped me to give up the caffine when I realized it was part of the cause. The only "C" I get now is through chocolate. Which usually not much. Hey, something else you might try is when your heart does that, drink some orange juice. When my potasium goes low, the ol' thumper gets crazy with it's beat.

Yea, but coffee is suposedly good for you (with moderation of course). So I for one, welcome that morning cup ;)

But, in regards to your heart palpitations my younger brother gets the same thing when consumes too much caffeine so he shy's away from it. Tiffany and I rarely drink cola now because of the HFCS that Mom was talking about, so its mainly water/coffee for us =) I think its a good thing to stay away from the sugars!

Have a great day :)

Sis. Tiffany. Getting healthy is not so fun for me either. I feel better though so I guess that is a good thing. I really like sweets so that is where I have a problem! But I will pray for you and maybe you can pray for me and maybe it will be easier.

That is definately two good things to get rid of in a diet. Also a good thing: carbs. I was on a diet, but it is SOOo hard to be on a diet when you're away from home, so I'm just trying to watch what I eat while I'm in Colorado, then when I get home, I'm going to do the same thing as you are doing :) Good luck with your goal :)
